Transportation
Côte-des-Neiges will draw property owners that use different methods of transportation. This part of the city is also amenable to bicycling. Owing to various nearby rapid transit stations with access to the Ligne 5 - Bleue and Ligne 2 - Orange, and about 40 nearby bus lines, commuting by public transit is very convenient in Côte-des-Neiges. Getting around by car is also easy in Côte-des-Neiges. Many homes for sale are a short drive from the closest highway, such as Autoroute Décarie.

Daycares and schools are very convenient to get to without a vehicle from most properties for sale in Côte-des-Neiges. In addition to public schools, there are private primary and high schools. Concerning eating, property owners in Côte-des-Neiges will appreciate that a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a short walk away. Over 50 supermarkets are situated close by, and the best selection can be found on streets such as Avenue Victoria. In addition, there is commonly a restaurant or cafe in close proximity, for instance on Chemin Queen-Mary.
Character
Côte-des-Neiges is a good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm environment. Greenery is quite prominent in this area as there are many tree-lined streets. There are over 100 green spaces close by for residents to enjoy, such as Parc Tiohtià:ke Otsira'kéhne and Parc du Mont-Royal, and they are very well-spread out, making it very easy to reach them. This part of the city is also fairly good for those who enjoy a quiet atmosphere, as the streets are tranquil - although that is not the case near Autoroute Décarie or one of the railway lines.

About 80% of the population of this neighbourhood rent their home while the rest are owners. In this neighbourhood, most buildings are small apartment buildings, and the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings. Around 40% of properties in this area were constructed prior to the 1960s, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 2000s. This part of Montréal is primarily composed of two bedroom and one bedroom homes.
