of 0

Vertu

The neighbourhood of Vertu is part of the city of Montréal, Quebec, which is located in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.

Transportation

Vertu presents house buyers with several alternative methods of transportation. Vertu is moderately well-suited for those who like to get around on foot; carrying out daily needs is convenient without a vehicle, and plenty of businesses are fairly close by. In contrast, the bike is a somewhat poor method of transportation in this area because this part of the city has fairly poor bicycling infrastructure. Thankfully, bicycling is better in some pockets than others, and there are a limited number of slopes to challenge cyclists. With 2 train stations (e.g., Gare Chabanel and Gare Ahuntsic) with access to the 12 - Saint-Jérôme and 15 - Mascouche, and about 20 nearby bus lines, the transit system in Vertu is good. Commuting by car is also very convenient in this neighbourhood. Nearby highways, such as Autoroute Métropolitaine, are very easy to reach from any location in this part of Montréal.

Services

Schools and daycares are straightforward to get to as a pedestrian from most houses for sale in Vertu. Apart from public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools. With respect to food, it is convenient to reach both a general and a specialty grocery store without the need for a vehicle from most properties for sale in Vertu. In addition, this neighbourhood is a fairly good place in which to eat out, and residents benefit from a few cafes as well.

Character

Vertu offers a great variety of green spaces to enjoy, despite its sometimes busy atmosphere. To be more precise, public green spaces are especially well-distributed and there are about 30 of them close by for residents to relax in, which makes it very easy to reach them. However, the tree canopy coverage for most streets is quite bad. This part of the city is a wonderful neighbourhood for those who don't mind some noise, as traffic can occasionally be loud during busier hours of the day.

Housing

The predominance of large apartment buildings in the housing stock of Vertu is an important part of its character. Roughly 40% of homes in this neighbourhood were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This area offers mainly one bedroom and two bedroom homes. Around 80% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by renters and 20% are occupied by owners.
