Transportation

Home buyers who value living in a compact community will welcome the pedestrian-friendly character of Trait-Carré; many daily errands can be run without a vehicle. The bicycle is a reasonably good method of transportation in this neighbourhood. Trait-Carré is very car friendly. Many real estate listings are a short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Autoroute Laurentienne, and it is easy to park. However, the public transit service in this part of Québec is not especially convenient. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is served by about 30 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most residences.

Services

Home buyers in this area will be pleased to learn that a grocery store is always only a reasonably short walk away. A small number of restaurants and cafes can be found as well. In terms of education, it is a short stroll to get to daycares and schools from anywhere in this neighbourhood.

Character

Trait-Carré is a reasonably good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. It is easy to access public green spaces in the neighbourhood since there are approximately 20 of them nearby for residents to unwind in. This part of the city is also good for those who like quiet surroundings, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic - however noise can be problematic closer to Autoroute Laurentienne.

Housing

In Trait-Carré, many dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings make up most of the remaining housing stock. About half of homes in this part of the city were built between 1960 and 1980, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 2000s. This neighbourhood has a good selection of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Homeowners occupy roughly 60% of the properties in Trait-Carré while the remainder are rented.
