Transportation

Cars are a great medium of transportation in The Hamptons. It is easy to park, and it is a rather short car ride to the nearest highway from anywhere in this neighbourhood. On the other hand, public transit users may have few options in this part of Edmonton as a result of the low service level. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are usually around the corner. Biking is easy in this area because the terrain is rather flat, and the cycling network is fairly good. The Hamptons is not very suitable for those who get around as pedestrians because meeting daily needs is impractical without the need for a car.

Services

Some home buyers in this neighbourhood may have the option to do their groceries as pedestrians, while others will have to use another means of transportation. There are also a few choices for those who care about nearby restaurants. With respect to education, in this part of the city, families will typically be able to get to daycares and schools without the use of a car.

Character

The Hamptons is a wonderful neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced ambience. This area is very quiet overall, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Lastly, there are approximately 30 public green spaces close by for residents to explore, like Doug Kelly Park and The Grange District Park, and they are especially well-situated, making them easy to access.

Housing

In The Hamptons, most buildings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. This part of Edmonton is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about three quarters of the units in the neighbourhood while renters occupy the remainder. Most of the housing growth in this part of the city has taken place after the year 2000.
