Downtown

The neighbourhood of Downtown Lethbridge is part of the city of Lethbridge, Alberta, which is located in the Greater Lethbridge metropolitan area.

Transportation

Active home buyers will value the bike-friendly character of Downtown. More precisely, there are a good number of bike lanes. Most houses for sale in this part of the city are located in places that are also rather suitable for pedestrians; meeting daily needs is convenient without a car, and many businesses are fairly close at hand. Cars are an excellent transportation option in this area. Many real estate listings are a short drive from the closest highway, and parking is quite easy. However, Downtown is not particularly transit friendly. Nonetheless, house owners benefit from a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is typically around the corner.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this area. Moreover, families may consider it difficult to get to daycares by foot. As far as food is concerned, some, but not all, home buyers in this neighbourhood will reside within a short distance of the closest supermarket. That being said, this area is a fairly good place in which to eat out or go to a cafe, for instance on Scenic Drive.

Small apartment buildings are the predominant housing type, representing the majority of buildings in Downtown, and the rest are mainly large apartment buildings. There is a higher proportion of one bedroom homes in this part of Lethbridge. Roughly 55% of the population of this neighbourhood rent their home and 45% are owners. This part of Lethbridge did not experience a single building boom; the construction of new homes in Downtown was spread throughout several decades in the twentieth and twenty-first century.
