Located within the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Nordel is a neighbourhood within Delta, British Columbia.

Transportation

Nordel is moderately car friendly. The majority of homes for sale are a rather short car ride from the nearest highway, and parking is quite easy. However, the public transit in Nordel is fairly poor. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. Walking in this neighbourhood is not very popular, despite the fact that running common errands is convenient without the need to use a car. On the other hand, the bike is a reasonably good means of transportation in Nordel because there are numerous bike lanes.

Services

Some, but not all, property owners in Nordel will live within walking distance of the closest grocery store. There are also a limited number of choices for those who value nearby restaurants and cafes. In terms of education, parents and their kids will appreciate that wherever their house is situated in Nordel, schools and daycares are close by.

Character

The character of Nordel is exemplified by its relaxed environment. Most areas in this neighbourhood are especially quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, most locations in the neighbourhood have good access to green spaces, like North Delta Community Park and McKitrick Park, since there are over 50 of them close by for residents to explore.

Housing

In Nordel, roughly half of dwellings are single detached homes, but duplexes are also present in the housing stock. This part of Delta is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly three quarters of the units in Nordel and one quarter are rented. Most homes in this part of the municipality were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, during its largest building boom.
