Chief Lake

The neighbourhood of Chief Lake can be found in the city of Prince George, British Columbia, which is situated in the Greater Prince George metropolitan area.

Transportation

Chief Lake is an extremely good part of Prince George for travelling by car. Accessing a place to park is generally easy, and the majority of real estate listings are a rather short car ride from the nearest highway. However, Chief Lake is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are typically around the corner. Most houses for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are not very conducive to pedestrians because many daily needs are impractical to carry out without the use of a car. The bicycle is a rather poor means of transportation in this part of the city because the cycling network is not very extensive, and there are a fair number of elevation changes.

Services

There are only a limited number of primary schools in this part of Prince George and thus they can be a long trip away. Additionally, Chief Lake does not contain any high schools. When it comes to eating, in all cases, a vehicle is needed to do groceries. There are a few opportunities for those who care about close by restaurants.

Character

People who prefer a slower-paced ambience will enjoy Chief Lake. This part of Prince George is reasonably quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, there are a few public green spaces nearby for residents to relax in, like Ferguson Lake Nature Reserve, which results in them being easy to reach from the majority of locations within this part of the city.

Housing

Around one third of homes in Chief Lake were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1990s and the 2000s. The large proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of this neighbourhood is an important part of its character. Homeowners occupy about 90% of the units in Chief Lake and 10% are rented. This neighbourhood also has quite a good selection of housing sizes; there is a higher proportion of four or more bedroom homes in this neighbourhood.
