Gleneagles

Situated within the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Gleneagles is a neighbourhood in West Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

The car is very often the favoured means of transportation in this neighbourhood. It is a very short car ride to the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, from any home in this part of the municipality, and parking is easy. However, public transit users may have limited options in Gleneagles due to the low service level. Nevertheless, property owners benefit from a few bus lines, and the closest bus stop is usually very close by. Gleneagles is not very conducive to bicycling as bicycling is made strenuous by the often hilly topography, and there are a limited number of bike lanes. It is also inconvenient for people travelling on foot to get around in Gleneagles because very few daily errands can be run without a car.

Services

It is straightforward to get to the closest supermarket as a pedestrian from anywhere in Gleneagles. Concerning education, it is a very short distance to access primary schools from any location in this neighbourhood. However, there are no high schools in this part of the municipality.

Character

People who prefer a slower-paced ambience will enjoy Gleneagles. The noise levels in this neighbourhood are very low, as the streets tend to be very tranquil - although that is not the case around Trans-Canada Highway. Finally, there are approximately 10 public green spaces nearby for residents to visit and they are very well-situated, making them easy to access.

Housing

Single detached homes and townhouses are the predominant housing type in Gleneagles. This neighbourhood did not experience a single construction boom; the construction of new dwellings in Gleneagles was spread throughout several decades in recent history. This part of the municipality is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. About 85% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and the rest are renters.
