Transportation

Downtown is rather conducive to people who travel on foot; running common errands is convenient without the use of a vehicle, and numerous businesses are close by. Active property owners will also enjoy the fairly cycling-friendly nature of this neighbourhood. In particular, riding a bicycle is made easier by the generally flat terrain, and there are a fair number of bike lanes. Downtown is not an especially pleasant part of Fredericton for getting around by public transit. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is connected by approximately 10 bus lines, and it is very easy to get to a nearby bus stop from most houses. In contrast, Downtown is a fairly convenient part of Fredericton for travelling by car. It is straightforward to park, and it is a reasonably short drive to the closest highway from anywhere in Downtown.
