The neighbourhood of Georgestown is part of the city of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, which is situated in the Greater St. John's metropolitan area.

Transportation

Home buyers who value residing in a walkable community will be pleased with the pedestrian-friendly character of Georgestown; meeting daily needs is easy without a car, and a good number of businesses of different types can be found as well. However, it is sometimes difficult to travel by bike in Georgestown because bicycle riders are faced with a considerable amount of slopes, and the bicycling infrastructure is not particularly extensive. Getting around by car is convenient in this part of St. John's. It is easy to find a parking spot, and many properties for sale are a very short drive from the closest highway. In contrast, this part of the city is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and the closest bus stop is usually around the corner.
