Located in the Cape Breton metropolitan area, Grand Lake Road is a community within Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent transportation option in this community. Many real estate listings are a short car ride from the closest highway, and it is especially convenient to find a parking spot. It is at times difficult for pedestrians to move around in Grand Lake Road as few daily errands can be run without a car. This community is also not very bicycling-friendly because there are few bike lanes, and the topography is not particularly flat.

There are only a few primary schools in this community and consequently they can be a rather long stroll away. Moreover, Grand Lake Road does not contain any high schools. In terms of eating, in all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is needed to shop for groceries.
