Part of the Greater Truro metropolitan area, Brentwood is a neighbourhood within Colchester Subdivision C, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent transportation option in Brentwood. It is very convenient to find a parking spot. Brentwood is not very bike-friendly since the topography is not especially flat, and the cycling infrastructure is quite bad. Traveling as a pedestrian is also not very practical for property owners in this area because almost no common errands can be run without the use of a car.

Services

Brentwood does not have any high schools or primary schools. Likewise, parents and their children may find it very hard to get to daycares by foot. Concerning eating, it is very rarely possible for property owners in Brentwood to access the closest grocery store by walking.

Character

The character of Brentwood is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. Brentwood is good for those who enjoy a quiet atmosphere, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic - although there are still several louder areas, especially near the railway line.

In Brentwood, the overwhelming majority of dwellings are single detached homes, and the rest of the properties are mainly mobile homes. This part of the subdivision of a county municipality is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. About 30% of homes in this neighbourhood were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
