Brookvale

Brookvale is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is situated in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

Brookvale is especially car friendly. It is very easy to access a parking spot. This community is not very amenable to bicycling since the area is not particularly flat, and there are very few bike lanes. It is also very difficult for pedestrians to navigate Brookvale because almost no daily errands can be run without a car.

Services

Parents may find it very hard for their kids to get to high schools and primary schools by walking. Concerning food, purchasing one's groceries usually necessitates the use of a vehicle in this area.

Character

Brookvale is an excellent community to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. Most areas in Brookvale are especially quiet, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. It is very difficult to reach parks from the majority of locations in the community since they aren't well-situated. Despite that, there are a few parks nearby for residents to relax in.

Housing

The sizeable percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of Brookvale is an important part of its character. About one third of properties in this community were constructed before the 1960s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1990s.
