The neighbourhood of Mount Royal is part of the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is situated in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

This part of the municipality is especially car friendly. The majority of properties for sale are a short drive from the closest highway, and it is easy to park. In contrast, public transit users may have few choices in this neighbourhood due to the low service level. Nevertheless, house owners are served by about 10 bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is usually very close by. Travelling by bicycle is easy in this neighbourhood because Mount Royal boasts good cycling infrastructure. In contrast, getting around on foot in Mount Royal is not very common, despite the fact that most day-to-day needs are convenient to carry out without a vehicle.

Services

Accessing the nearest grocery store without a car is an option for some, but not all, home buyers in Mount Royal. A small variety of restaurants and cafes can be found as well. As far as education is concerned, parents and their children will find that wherever their home is situated in Mount Royal, primary schools and daycares are nearby. In this area, around 70% of buildings are large apartment buildings, while small apartment buildings make up most of the remaining housing stock. Most of the housing growth in this part of the municipality has taken place after the year 2000. This area also has a selection of housing size options; however this neighbourhood is notable for those looking for two bedroom homes.
