Grand Woodlands

Grand Woodlands is a neighbourhood within Brantford, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Brantford metropolitan area.

Transportation

Home buyers who value being in a walkable community will be pleased with the pedestrian-friendly nature of this neighbourhood; running day-to-day errands is easy without a vehicle. However, Grand Woodlands is not particularly appropriate for biking because there are a fair number of elevation changes, and the cycling network is not very comprehensive. This part of Brantford is especially car friendly. Coming across a parking spot is quite easy, and it is a reasonably short drive to the nearest highway, such as Highway 403, from any home in this area.

Services

Parents and their schoolchildren will find that no matter where their house is located in this area, both primary and secondary schools are close by. Residents benefit from public and private elementary schools. In contrast, families may consider it very hard to get to daycares by walking. When it comes to eating, it is generally practical for property owners in this part of the city to buy groceries as pedestrians. There are also a limited number of choices for those who appreciate nearby restaurants and cafes.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Grand Woodlands, despite its sometimes busy feel. Green spaces, including Briar Park, are especially well-spread out and there are approximately 10 of them nearby for residents to explore, which makes them easy to reach. Thanks to the presence of few pedestrians, this part of the city remains relatively quiet; however noise levels are higher closer to Highway 403.

Housing

Grand Woodlands experienced its biggest building boom between 1960 and 1980, so most of the available properties are from this era. In this neighbourhood, the majority of dwellings are single detached homes, and the rest are mainly large apartment buildings. Homeowners occupy around 70% of the units in Grand Woodlands while the remainder are rented. This part of Brantford is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
