High Park

The neighbourhood of High Park is part of the city of Toronto, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

High Park provides home buyers with the choice between different methods of transportation. With plenty of nearby rapid transit stations with access to the Line 2 (Bloor - Danforth), and about 20 nearby bus lines, the public transit system in High Park is great. This part of the city will also appeal to people who value being in a community that's walkable as it is very geared to pedestrians; most daily needs are straightforward to carry out without a car, and plenty of businesses are moderately close at hand. This area will attract physically active home buyers since it is very suited for cycling. More specifically, most of the area is reasonably flat, bike-share stations are never more than a short distance away, and there are a good number of bike lanes.

Services

It is straightforward to reach both a general and a specialty grocery store by foot from most houses for sale in this neighbourhood. Moreover, there is generally a restaurant or cafe in close proximity, for example on Bloor Street. In terms of education, daycares and schools are straightforward to access as a pedestrian from most properties for sale in this part of the city. Apart from public schools, there are private primary and high schools.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in High Park, despite its sometimes busy atmosphere. More specifically, it is very easy to access parks in the neighbourhood since there are around 40 of them nearby for residents to check out. Residents will also find that the tree canopy coverage for a large number of streets is great. Much of High Park is quite quiet, however noise can be an issue around the railway line.

Housing

Most of the housing growth in High Park has happened following the year 2000. In this part of Toronto, many dwellings are large apartment buildings, while single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. Around 80% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while renters occupy the remainder. This area is primarily composed of one bedroom and two bedroom homes.
