Nelson

The neighbourhood of Nelson is part of the town of Milton, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are a reasonably good transportation option in Nelson. Parking is quite easy. In contrast, Nelson is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are generally around the corner. Most homes for sale in this area are located in places that are not particularly conducive to pedestrians as very few daily errands can be run without a car. In contrast, getting around by bicycle is easy in Nelson as the cycling network is fairly good.

Services

It is a reasonably short walk to get to primary schools from anywhere in Nelson. In contrast, Nelson does not contain any high schools. At the elementary level, there are both public and private schools. As far as food is concerned, it is very rarely possible for home buyers in this part of the town to reach the nearest supermarket on foot. Nevertheless, getting to the closest pharmacy and accordingly some basic food items is usually easy. A limited variety of restaurants can be found in Nelson as well.

Character

The character of Nelson is exemplified by its calm ambience. It is easy to reach green spaces in the neighbourhood, since there are approximately 20 of them nearby for residents to unwind in and getting to a park is very easy from most homes. Most areas in this neighbourhood are quiet, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic.

Housing

Single detached homes and townhouses are the main housing type in Nelson. About 40% of properties in this part of Milton were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 2000s. This part of the town offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Nearly 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while the rest are renters.
