Ninth Line

Part of the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Ninth Line is a neighbourhood within Mississauga, Ontario.

Transportation

Cars are a great means of transportation in Ninth Line. Most homes for sale are a very short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Highway 403, and it is convenient to access a parking spot. However, the public transit service in Ninth Line is not very frequent. Nevertheless, there are approximately 10 bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far away from most residences. Most houses for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are not particularly conducive to those who prefer to travel on foot since many day-to-day needs are occasionally challenging to meet without a car. Ninth Line is also not especially amenable to bicycling. Thankfully, cycling is more feasible in certain areas than others, there are a fair number of bike lanes, and bicycle riders do not encounter significant slopes.

Services

Families will value that wherever their house is located in this part of Mississauga, primary schools are nearby. In contrast, high schools are not especially numerous and accordingly tend to require a rather long stroll to get to. Residents have the option of public and private schools at both the elementary and high school level. With regards to food, some, but not all, house buyers in this area will live within a short distance of the closest supermarket. A limited selection of restaurants and coffee shops is available as well.

Character

A highlight of Ninth Line is its wide selection of green spaces. The majority of locations in the neighbourhood have reasonably good access to public green spaces, like Mississauga Meadowvale Rotary Park and Trelawny Woods, since there are around 30 of them nearby for residents to enjoy. As there are very few people out and about on the streets, this area remains relatively quiet.

Housing

The predominant housing types in Ninth Line are single detached homes and row houses. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. About 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 10% are renters. This part of the city experienced its largest construction boom after the year 2000, so most of the available housing is from this era.
