Northeast

Northeast is a neighbourhood within Mississauga, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

The transit in Northeast is reasonably convenient. For instance, there are many rapid transit stations on the Meadowvale Express. Residents can rely on the Malton and Pearson Airport Station on the Union Pearson Express and Kitchener. There are around 40 bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and it is especially convenient to get to a nearby bus stop from most homes. On the other hand, Northeast is not particularly conducive to biking as there are few bike lanes. Nonetheless, the terrain is fairly flat, and bicycling is more practical in certain sectors than others. Getting around on foot in Northeast is not very popular, despite the fact that many common errands can be run without needing a vehicle. However, cars are an excellent medium of transportation in Northeast. It is very easy to park, and most of the street network is conducive to driving.

Services

Both primary and secondary schools are easy to reach on foot from any location in Northeast. In addition to public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools. In contrast, it can be challenging to reach daycares by foot. Concerning food, home buyers in Northeast will appreciate that a grocery store is always only a rather short stroll away. Additionally, Northeast is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat or go to a cafe.

Character

One of the highlights of Northeast is its great variety of green spaces. There are over 50 parks close by for residents to visit, like Dunton Athletic Fields and Hershey Centre Sportszone North, making it very easy to get to them from a large number of locations in this neighbourhood. Lastly, due to the presence of few pedestrians, this part of the city remains relatively quiet, although there can be more noise for those who are around Highway 401, Highway 403, one of the 2 airports (Toronto / Cardinal Couriers Heliport,Tarten Heliport) or one of the railway lines.

Housing

In Northeast, about one third of dwellings are large apartment buildings, while single detached homes make up most of the remaining housing stock. This neighbourhood offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. The population residing in this neighbourhood is evenly split between renters and owners. This part of the city did not experience a single building boom; the construction of new homes in this neighbourhood was spread throughout several decades in recent history.
