Part of the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Sheridan is a neighbourhood within Brampton, Ontario.

Transportation

Sheridan enables homeowners to get around using several alternative modes of transportation. Sheridan is rather transit friendly as a consequence of about 20 nearby bus lines. Most homes for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are also moderately convenient for pedestrians; running common errands is easy without the use of a car. It is easy to move around by bicycle in Sheridan.

Services

It is a short walk to reach schools and daycares from anywhere in Sheridan. Apart from public schools, there are private elementary and high schools. As far as food is concerned, the closest grocery store in Sheridan is usually only a short walk away. Likewise, this part of Brampton is a good place in which to go out to eat, and there are also a few coffee shops in this area.

Character

Sheridan offers a calm atmosphere and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. There are approximately 30 parks close by for residents to unwind in, including Peelton Park and Fletcher's Green Community Park, and they are very well-distributed, which results in them being very easy to get to from most locations within this part of Brampton. This area is also good for those who like a quiet atmosphere, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although there are still several noisier sections, especially around Highway 407.

Housing

Large apartment buildings are the most common housing type, representing roughly one third of dwellings in Sheridan, while the rest are mainly duplexes and single detached homes. This neighbourhood also has a good choice of unit sizes - it is quite easy to find properties ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas the remainder are renters. Roughly 40% of homes in this part of the city were constructed between 1980 and 1990, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1990s and the 2000s.
