Rosedale

The neighbourhood of Rosedale is part of the city of Hamilton, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area.

Transportation

It is convenient to move around by bicycle in Rosedale. This neighbourhood is also rather well-suited for those who like to travel on foot; running daily errands is easy without a vehicle. The car is very often the best way to move around in this area. It is a rather short drive to the nearest highway, such as Red Hill Valley Parkway, from any home in this neighbourhood, and it is convenient to come across a place to park. However, Rosedale is not especially transit friendly. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and the closest bus stop is usually around the corner.

Services

It is easy to reach the nearest grocery store as a pedestrian in this area. A limited number of restaurants and cafes are available as well. Regarding education, primary schools and daycares are convenient to reach without a vehicle from most homes for sale in Rosedale. In contrast, families may find it challenging to access high schools as pedestrians. At the primary level, there are both public and private schools.

Character

Home buyers who prefer a slower-paced atmosphere will enjoy Rosedale. This neighbourhood is reasonably quiet, as there are low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case closer to Red Hill Valley Parkway or the railway line. Finally, there are around 20 parks close by for residents to unwind in, like Montgomery Park and Rosedale Park, resulting in them being very easy to get to from most locations in this area.

Housing

The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of Rosedale is an important part of its character. This neighbourhood also has a choice of housing size options; there is a higher proportion of three bedroom homes in this area. Homeowners occupy around 80% of the dwellings in Rosedale and the rest are rented. A majority of the houses available in the housing market in this neighbourhood were built pre-1960, when most of the housing growth happened.
