The neighbourhood of Eastwood can be found in the city of Kitchener, Ontario, which is located in the Kitchener - Cambridge - Waterloo metropolitan area.

Transportation

The bike is a good method of transportation in this area. Walking is also fairly feasible for home buyers in Eastwood; carrying out daily needs is convenient without a vehicle. Public transit riders may experience few choices in Eastwood by reason of the low service level. Nonetheless, rapid transit stations, such as Borden Station on the ION Light Rail, are not particularly far from most homes in the neighbourhood. There are a few bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. In contrast, the best transportation option in Eastwood is usually a car. Many properties for sale are a very short drive from the closest highway, such as Highway 7, and it is convenient to find a parking spot.

Services

Both primary and secondary schools are straightforward to get to on foot from anywhere in Eastwood. Along with public schools, there are private elementary and high schools. In contrast, there are only a limited number of daycares and thus they can be an extended stroll away. With respect to eating, it is convenient to access the closest supermarket on foot from any home in this area. Likewise, Eastwood is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat, and home buyers can enjoy a few cafes as well. Property owners have access to a good number of clothing stores within walking distance.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Eastwood, despite its sometimes busy ambience. There are approximately 20 public green spaces close by for residents to relax in, such as Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex and Wilson Park, and they are especially well-distributed, resulting in them being very easy to get to from the majority of locations in this neighbourhood. Lastly, this part of the city remains relatively quiet, due to the presence of few people out and about on the streets, although those who are near Highway 8 or Highway 7 may experience more noise.

Housing

Roughly three quarters of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and one quarter are renters. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing many dwellings in this area, whereas the rest are mainly large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings. Around 40% of homes in this part of the city were constructed pre-1960, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s. This neighbourhood also has a good selection of unit sizes - it is quite easy to find houses ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
