Sheridan

Part of the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Sheridan is a neighbourhood within Mississauga, Ontario.

Transportation

It is easy to get around by bicycle in this neighbourhood. Many of the homes for sale in this part of the city are located in areas that are also rather conducive to pedestrians; most day-to-day needs are convenient to carry out without a vehicle. Driving is a great transportation option in Sheridan. It is convenient to park, and it is a rather short car ride to the closest highway, such as Queen Elizabeth Way, from any home in Sheridan. However, Sheridan is not particularly transit friendly. Thankfully, rapid transit stations, including University of Toronto / Mississauga Campus, Southdown Rd / Truscott Dr and Dundas St W East of Erin Mills Pky on the University Express, are not very far-removed from the majority of properties in the neighbourhood. There are approximately 10 bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are ordinarily around the corner.

Services

It is easy to get to the nearest supermarket on foot from any location in Sheridan. A limited variety of restaurants and cafes is available as well. With regards to education, in Sheridan, parents and their children will generally be able to access both primary and secondary schools by walking. Besides public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools. On the other hand, it can be challenging to travel to daycares from homes for sale in Sheridan.

Character

The character of Sheridan is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. This part of the city is very good for those who prefer quiet areas, as the streets tend to be very calm closer to Queen Elizabeth Way. Lastly, there are over 50 public green spaces close by for residents to check out, such as Erindale Park and Huron Park, and they are very well-situated, making it very easy to access them.

Housing

In Sheridan, many buildings are single detached homes, whereas the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings. This part of Mississauga is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. About 70% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the remainder are rented. Most of the housing growth in this neighbourhood happened between 1960 and 1980.
