Carp

The neighbourhood of Carp is part of the city of Ottawa, Ontario, which is located in the Ottawa - Gatineau metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is a very good medium of transportation in Carp. Parking is quite easy. However, Carp is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, property owners benefit from about 20 bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily around the corner. A majority of the homes for sale in this part of the city are located in places that are not very suitable for people who prefer to travel as pedestrians because running common errands is inconvenient without a car. In contrast, Carp is moderately suited for biking.

Services

In all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is needed in Carp to reach the nearest grocery store. Nevertheless, it is generally a reasonably short trip to the nearest pharmacy, which can supply some staple foods. Concerning education, parents and their schoolchildren will welcome that no matter where their property is situated in Carp, primary schools are close by. However, Carp does not contain any high schools. Residents benefit from public and private elementary schools.

Character

Home buyers who prefer a calm ambience will enjoy Carp. The noise levels in this part of the city are very low, as the streets are very peaceful - although that is not the case near Highway 7, Highway 417, the railway line or the airport (Ottawa / Carp Airport). Finally, there are approximately 40 green spaces close by for residents to explore, including Rick Lytle Park and Hidden Lake Park, making them easy to get to.

Housing

About 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas the remainder are renters. Single detached homes and townhouses are the predominant housing type in this part of the city. Most housing in this neighbourhood was constructed after the year 2000, during its most significant building boom. This part of Ottawa is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
