Transportation

Fitzroy is very car friendly. It is very convenient to park. Fitzroy is not very well-suited for those who prefer to get around as pedestrians as almost no daily errands can be run without the use of a car. In contrast, this part of the city is fairly bike-friendly.

Services

In all cases, a car is needed in this part of Ottawa to reach the nearest grocery store. There are also a few restaurants in Fitzroy. As far as education is concerned, primary schools are not numerous in Fitzroy, and therefore often beyond walking distance, and there are no high schools.

Character

The character of Fitzroy is exemplified by its calm environment. Fitzroy is excellent for those who like a quiet atmosphere, as the streets are very peaceful. Parks are sparse, making it rather difficult to access them from a lot of locations in the neighbourhood. Still, there are around 10 public green spaces nearby for residents to unwind in, including Parc récréatif de Quyon and Fitzroy Harbour Community Centre and Campbell Bicentennial Park.
