The neighbourhood of Woodlands is part of the city of Pickering, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are a great means of transportation in Woodlands. Parking is quite easy, and it is a very short car ride to the nearest highway, such as Highway 401, from any location in this neighbourhood. In contrast, the public transit service in Woodlands is not especially frequent. Thankfully, house owners benefit from a few bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily around the corner. Although some bicycling-friendly areas exist, it is difficult to travel by bicycle in Woodlands as there are a good number of slopes for cyclists to brave, and there are few bike lanes. There is a great variety of green spaces in Woodlands. Public green spaces, like Amberlea Park, are especially well-distributed and there are around 20 of them nearby for residents to relax in, which makes it easy to access them. This neighbourhood remains relatively quiet, thanks to the presence of few pedestrians; however there can be more noise for those who are closer to the railway line or Highway 401.
