Runnymede

Located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Runnymede is a neighbourhood within Toronto, Ontario.

Transportation

Regardless of the means of transportation, it is reasonably simple to move around in Runnymede. Runnymede is reasonably suitable for those who like to travel on foot; running common errands is convenient without a vehicle, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Runnymede is also a fairly pleasant part of Toronto for cyclists. More specifically, there are a limited number of elevation changes. With Runnymede Station - Westbound Platform with access to the Line 2 (Bloor - Danforth), and approximately 10 nearby bus lines, Runnymede is very transit friendly. Commuting by car is also convenient in this part of Toronto because it is generally not too challenging to park.

Services

A general and a specialty grocery store is always only a very short stroll away in Runnymede. Additionally, Runnymede is a fairly good place in which to eat out or go to a cafe. With regards to education, it is a very short walk to access daycares and schools from most properties for sale in this part of the city. At the primary level, both public and private schools can be found.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Runnymede, as well as some areas with a vibrant atmosphere. To be more specific, there are approximately 20 green spaces nearby for residents to relax in, such as Black Creek Site West and Smythe Park, and they are very well-situated, which makes it very easy to reach them from the majority of locations in this part of Toronto. Most sections of this neighbourhood are very calm and quiet, but some other areas can be noisy, especially closer to the railway line.

Housing

Most of the housing growth in Runnymede occurred prior to the 1960s. In this neighbourhood, around 45% of dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings and townhouses make up most of the remaining housing stock. About 80% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 20% are occupied by renters. This area has a good choice of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
