Uplands

Uplands is a neighbourhood within Vaughan, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

Uplands allows house buyers to travel using a diversity of modes of transportation. The public transit service in this neighbourhood is reasonably good due to many nearby rapid transit stations on the Viva Purple, Viva Blue and Viva Orange, and around 20 nearby bus lines. Getting around as a pedestrian is also moderately practical for house buyers in this part of the city; many common errands can be run without a car. Moving around by bicycle is occasionally difficult in this part of Vaughan because there are a limited number of bike lanes, and there are a good number of elevation changes for cyclists to brave. Nevertheless, bicycling is more feasible in certain sectors than others.

Services

Parents and their kids will value that no matter where their home is located in Uplands, daycares and schools are close by. Families have the choice between public and private schools at both the primary and secondary school level. With regards to food, accessing one of around 10 supermarkets by walking is an option for some, but not all, home buyers in Uplands. That being said, Uplands is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat, and a limited selection of coffee shops can be found as well.

Character

The character of Uplands is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. Accessing green spaces from most locations within the neighbourhood, such as Jean Augustine District Park and Royal Orchard Park, is easy since there are approximately 40 of them nearby for residents to discover. The noise levels in this area are also quite low, as the streets are usually peaceful - although that is not the case near Highway 407.

Housing

Nearly 95% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas renters make up the remainder. The predominant housing types in this part of Vaughan are single detached homes and townhouses. Roughly 45% of properties in this neighbourhood were built in the 1980s, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1990s. Notably, this part of the city is good for those looking for four or more bedroom homes.
