Part of the Greater Montreal metropolitan area, Lakeroad is a neighbourhood within Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec.

Transportation

This part of Dollard-des-Ormeaux is conducive to cycling because cyclists do not face significant slopes, and the bicycling infrastructure is fairly good. Walking is also reasonably practical for house buyers in Lakeroad; running common errands is convenient without a car. The transit network in Lakeroad is rather poor. Nevertheless, property owners are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are typically around the corner. In contrast, the best method to navigate this part of the city is often driving. It is easy to find a place to park, and many homes for sale are a rather short car ride from the nearest highway.

Services

Daycares and primary schools are convenient to access as a pedestrian from most properties for sale in this part of the city. However, this neighbourhood does not have any high schools. In terms of eating, some, but not all, property owners in this area will live within walking distance of the nearest supermarket. Character

Lastly, greenery is present in this part of the city as most streets have reasonably good tree coverage. Although Lakeroad is not home to any public green spaces, parks are especially well-situated in nearby neighbourhoods, which makes it easy to access them.

Housing

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing roughly one third of dwellings in Lakeroad, while large apartment buildings make up most of the remaining housing stock. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly three quarters of the units in Lakeroad and the rest are rented. A majority of the housing growth in this neighbourhood happened between 1960 and 1980.
