Beauport

Located in the Greater Québec City metropolitan area, Beauport is a borough within Québec, Quebec.

Transportation

The car is very often the best way to get around in Beauport. Coming across a place to park is generally easy, and nearby highways, such as Autoroute Dufferin-Montmorency, are very easy to drive to from any location in this area. However, the transit infrastructure in Beauport is fairly poor. Nevertheless, there are over 50 bus lines passing through the borough, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. Traveling on foot in Beauport is not very popular, despite the fact that running daily errands is convenient without the need to get in a car. This part of the city is also not especially amenable to biking as Beauport has sometimes poor cycling infrastructure, and there are quite a few elevation changes.

Services

Primary schools and daycares are convenient to reach as a pedestrian from most properties for sale in Beauport. On the other hand, it can be difficult to reach high schools on foot. Along with public schools, there are private primary and secondary schools. In terms of eating, reaching one of approximately 20 supermarkets by foot is an option for some, but not all, property owners in Beauport. A limited number of restaurants and cafes are available as well.

Character

The character of Beauport is exemplified by its slower-paced atmosphere. The noise levels in this area are very low, as the streets are generally very peaceful. Lastly, getting to green spaces in the borough, including Parc de la Montagne-des-Roches and Parc de la Chute-Montmorency, is easy since there are over 100 of them close by for residents to check out.

Housing

Single detached homes are the main housing type, representing around 45% of buildings in Beauport, and the rest of the houses are mainly small apartment buildings. Around 30% of properties in this borough were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This part of the city also has a good variety of housing size options - it is quite easy to find homes ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About 60% of the population of this borough own their home and renters make up the remainder.
