In contrast, Fort Townshend is not especially appropriate for biking since the cycling network is sometimes poor, and there are a fair number of hills for cyclists to brave. Travelling by public transit is difficult in this area. Nevertheless, house owners are served by a few bus lines, and the closest bus stop is generally very close by. On the other hand, this part of the city is a fairly convenient part of St. John's for moving around by car.
