The neighbourhood of Vinegar Hill can be found in the city of Markham, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

The preferred transportation option in Vinegar Hill is usually a car. It is a very short drive to the nearest highway, such as Highway 407, from anywhere in this neighbourhood, and it is very easy to park. In contrast, commuting by public transit is challenging in Vinegar Hill. Nonetheless, rapid transit stations, including Hwy 7 / Wootten, Hwy 7 / Main Markham and Highway 7 / Galsworthy Dr on the Viva Purple, are ordinarily a short walk away from the bulk of properties in the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are typically very close by. Traveling on foot is not very popular in Vinegar Hill, although running common errands is easy without the need to get in a car. In contrast, Vinegar Hill is moderately appropriate for biking.

Services

It is a reasonably short walk to reach schools and daycares from any location in Vinegar Hill. Residents can choose between public and private elementary schools. With respect to eating, reaching the closest grocery store by walking is possible for some, but not all, property owners in Vinegar Hill. A limited number of restaurants and coffee shops are available as well.

Character

The character of Vinegar Hill is exemplified by its relaxed atmosphere. Most areas in this neighbourhood are quiet, as the streets are generally reasonably tranquil - however noise can be bothersome near Highway 407. Finally, public green spaces, such as Milne Dam Conservation Park and Rouge Valley Park, are very well-situated and there are approximately 10 of them close by for residents to check out, making them very easy to access.

Housing

In Vinegar Hill, about two thirds of buildings are single detached homes, and the rest of the properties are mainly duplexes. About 30% of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed between 1980 and 1990, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1990s. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Nearly 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 10% are renters.
