Part of the Greater Kingston metropolitan area, Ravensview is a neighbourhood within Kingston, Ontario.
Transportation
Ravensview is particularly car friendly. It is very convenient to park. This neighbourhood is not very cycling-friendly because there are a fair number of slopes, and the bicycling network is quite bad. Traveling on foot is also not very practical for residents in Ravensview because carrying out daily needs is very challenging without a car.
Services
There are no high schools and no primary schools in Ravensview. As far as food is concerned, a car is almost always required in this part of Kingston to reach the nearest grocery store.
Character
The character of Ravensview is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. Ravensview is excellent for those who need quiet areas, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Green spaces aren't well-distributed, making it rather challenging to access them from the majority of locations within the neighbourhood. Still, there are a few parks close by for residents to explore.
Housing
Ravensview did not experience a single building boom; the construction of new dwellings in this neighbourhood was spread throughout several decades in the twentieth and twenty-first century. The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. Nearly 95% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and the rest are rented. This area offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
